The last drive to Makena

We drove down the southeastern coast of Maui as far as we could go.

One last stroll from Whaler's Village in Ka'anapoli

This is the Westin Maui, the first place my sister-in-law, Bev, and I stayed on Maui.

Saturday is for saying goodbye

Took one last stroll on the beach of Kahana.

Our final Luau

The Royal Lahaina Luau in Ka'anapoli was only 10 minutes away, so our last night was spent there.

Kampala and the Dragon's Teeth

Almost back, we stop at Kapalua near the Ritz-Carlton to find the Dragon's Teeth (and get soaked for our effort)!

Hop in the car and keep driving toward Kahana.

First we stop for a small hike, then find the blowhole I've been looking for the last twenty years!

Friday is for chilling around West Maui

We start our day by walking along the beach.

Next we drive to Kahalui to begin our drive around the western section of Maui.

Thursday evening was the dinner cruise along the bay.

A couple from Australia shared our table - we even saw more whales!

Whale watching

There were dolphins and a mama whale with her baby.

Thursday was spent in Lahaina

under the Banyan Tree, visiting the harbor, and whale watching.

The silversword only grows on Haleakala.

This plant takes years before it blooms, only blooming once before it dies.

Haleakala is another world...

Haleakala, "House of the Sun," looks like a moonscape.

Had a great time today shopping in Kaanapoli, eating at the Mixed Plate, and driving up Haleakala.

Wednesday is for shopping at Whalers Village and driving up Haleakala

After being greeted this morning with our first rainbow, we decided to walk along the beach.

And Tuesday is for visiting the Old Lahaina Luau

We had a great greeter!
